about the project

ON KNOWING AND MISKNOWING

An interactive project examining how geography is differently understood across the Middle East and the West.

Participants navigate a series of clues testing knowledge of borders, flags, and place, revealing gaps and assumptions in what is known.

A hybrid “midpoint” typeface, positioned between Arabic and English, requires reading through transliteration, creating a shared space between languages.

The work uses translation not just as a tool, but as a means of connection and reconsideration.
